Apple Dessert in Aluminum Foil Dinner

Apple desserts in aluminum foil, often called foil packet apple crisps or baked apples, are simple, warm, and gooey treats perfect for cooking over a campfire, on a grill, or in an oven. They are easy to prepare with minimal cleanup, making them a popular choice for outdoor dining

3 to 4 Grannies Green Apples, sliced with or without the skins or use any apples you have around.
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts
1 Cube Butter
1/2 Cup Maple Syrup
12 Slices bread of your choice
Butter

Directions:
In a bowl combine the melted butter, maple syrup, and nuts. Place a small handful of the apples in the middle of your aluminum foil shinny side up. Next put a large scoop of the nut mixture on top of that. Fold the foil leaving a small ventilation hole in it. Do that till all the apples are gone along with the nut mixture. Place over coals and cook for about 30 to 40 minutes or until the apples are done but not mushy. The only problem with this recipe is that you want more when it is done, so you might want to do more than one batch.
You can also do this in the bottom of your 12″ dutch oven. I would double the batch however so you can cover the bottom of the dutch oven good. Do not get it too hot or you will burn the nut mixture to the bottom of your dutch oven. But it is really good!!!
