Cheese Burger Rice Dutch Oven Recipe

Cheese Burger Rice Dutch Oven Recipe

A meal in a Dutch oven is an efficient way to get a hearty, one-pot dinner on the table. The heavy walls of the Dutch oven are perfect for browning the beef and then simmering the rice until it’s tender and fluffy

2 lbs Ground Beef
1 Small Onion
3 Cups Water
4 tablespoons prepared mustard = 1/4 cup
1 Cup Catsup
1 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Pepper
3 cups Minute Rice ( uncooked)
2 Cups shredded Cheddar Cheese

Directions:
Brown meat and onion in your large iron skillet on medium high heat or you can use your 10″ dutch oven. When cooked drain off the fat. Stir in water, catsup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil. Stir in rice, cover and remove from the heat. Let stand 5 minutes, fluff with a fork, sprinkle with cheese and cover. Let it stand 3 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Garnish with lettuce leaves, pickle and tomato slices and serve.
