Grandma’s Perfect Fried Chicken Dutch Oven Recipe

This recipe for “Grandma’s Perfect Fried Chicken” uses a Dutch oven to achieve a deeply crispy exterior and juicy interior

10 or 12 pieces of Chicken
1/2 Cup Flour
2 tbs. Shortening or Bacon Grease
1 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper

Directions: Rinse Chicken and put 3 or 4 pieces in a plastic bag. Drop in all ingredients but the shortening. Hold top of bag and shake till chicken is all covered. Warm and grease your cast iron skillet with the melted shortening. Fry over medium heat until brown on all sides. Cover and allow to summer on low heat for 15 minutes.
