Idaho Bacon Burgers Dutch Oven Recipe

Idaho Bacon Burgers Dutch Oven Recipe

Is a classic outdoor cooking staple that combines juicy beef with smoky bacon and tangy barbecue sauce. The high walls of the Dutch Oven help retain moisture, ensuring the burgers stay tender during the cooking process

1 1/2 lbs. Lean Ground beef
1 Cup Cornflakes
1/2 Cup Barbecue Sauce, your favorite
1 Onion, chopped
6 Slices of Bacon
1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper

Directions:
Combine all ingredients except the bacon and shape into 6 patties about 3/4″ thick. Wrap a slice of Bacon around each patty and fasten with a toothpick. Lay into a 6-up hamburger basket and grill until cooked thoroughly. Be sure to remove the toothpicks before serving.
Now if you do not have a grill basket you can use aluminum foil. Put the shinny side in and then do not use the toothpick to hold the bacon. In about 4 minutes turn the foil over and then in about 3 minutes check to see if it is done. Depending on how you like them they might be done. Use good hot pads or leather gloves to take it off the fire. This is really HOT!!!
