Tortillas & Sausage Lasagna Dutch Oven Recipe
This Dutch Oven Sausage and Tortilla Lasagna combines Italian sausage with Mexican-style layers (often called a Mexican Lasagna or “Cowboy” style) for a hearty, smoky, and easy-to-make one-pot meal. It can be made in a 12-inch cast-iron Dutch oven over charcoal or in a home oven
Ingredients:
2lb. Linked Sausage Smoked – sliced
Hamburger & Sausage Mix
1 White Onion – sliced
26 oz. Jar of Spaghetti sauce = tall can
1/2 Jar Chunkie Salsa – mild
1/2 Jar Salsa Verde
12 Corn Tortillas – cut up into small pieces about dollar size
1 Can Tomato Sauce
Green Onions – as many as you like
Cheese to go on top – grated
Directions:
In your 12″ regular dutch oven pre-heat and oil it. Add your smoked Sausage and Hamburger and Sausage mixture. Then start putting in everything else except the cheese. You want the mixture to be soupy like when you get it all mixed up. If you are using this as a chip dip do not put in the corn tortillas. Just cook and serve as a chip dip. If you are not using it as a dip put in the Corn tortillas and stir ever thing up nice so it is all mixed up good. Then just before it is done add the cheese on top and melt that. When that is done you are ready to serve and eat.
